Frequently Asked Questions & Concerns
QUESTIONS & CONCERNS FROM CLAIMANTS TO US
Sounds too good to be true must be a scam.
As mentioned on our homepage, there are numerous types of proceeds generated in the United States daily. Federal, state, and local governments, as well as private banks and organizations, are holding over $50 billion in various abandoned funds that need to be rightfully and legally returned to their rightful owners, whether it’s an individual, family, or business. This is where we come in to help because we have the expertise to navigate the complex government procedures to locate these funds and make things right. Our services are provided on a contingency basis, meaning we only get paid if we successfully recover and return the funds to their rightful owners. We never ask for any upfront fees to get started, and if anyone does, they are most likely trying to scam you. Moreover, if anyone asks for your social security number, bank account number/s, or credit card information, please do not provide it. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, PLEASE DON’T FALL PREY TO THESE FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES.
What Are Overages/Surplus Funds/Unclaimed Money?
Excess Funds, Overages, Overbids, and Surplus Funds are names most commonly used to describe the funds that are left over when a property is sold at a Sheriff’s Foreclosure Sale. This occurs If the home is sold for more than what was owed on the mortgage and for taxes. If this is the case, the Individual, Family, or Business who was the owner at the time of the sale may be entitled to what we like to refer to as Ownership Proceeds. Which in most instances are a substantial amount of funds/money over $10,000.00. Unclaimed Funds are different, they can be for Bank Accounts, Safety Deposit Boxes, Back Wages, Pension, Money or Life Insurance Funds, Undelivered Tax Refunds, and Refunds from an FHA-insured mortgage are the most common types.
Who is IYM RETURN SOLUTIONS?
IYM, which stands for “IT’S YOUR MONEY”, is an Advocacy Group that aims to help individuals, families, and businesses in the United States to retrieve their rightful funds before the expiration date. Our organization was created to assist in returning as much money as possible to the rightful owners before it’s too late. Our team is well-versed in the workings of government agencies across the United States and if we discover that a government agency is holding your funds during a routine audit of government records, we will do our best to AAAR (Audit, Advise, Assist, and Return) them to their rightful owner.
Can't I find these proceeds/money on my own?
“You can try searching for ownership proceeds or unclaimed funds accounts of governmental agencies and departments online, but it is unlikely that you will find them. Our clients have attempted to do so in the past, but either couldn’t locate what we did or found the process of going to court or filing a probate to be more complicated and time-consuming than they initially thought.”
Why do these ownership proceeds /money belong to me or my family?
If you or a family member (now deceased are possibly named in their will or entitled to a portion of the proceeds due to your relationship with them) or if you owned or had an ownership stake in a business that had a property sold at foreclosure due to an unpaid mortgage or unpaid taxes, you may be owed ownership proceeds/money. This can happen when the property is sold for more than what was owed to the lien holder or creditors. In cases of bankruptcy, old discharged bankruptcies can sometimes yield funds that need to be returned to their rightful and lawful owner. There are many more sources of funds that we can explain to you. We would be more than happy to clarify where your funds came from.
How long does this process usually take?
Different government agencies, departments, or private organizations have varying methods for processing claims. The duration of the process depends on the nature of the claim and the legal regulations surrounding it. While it is possible for some claims to be processed in as little as 30 days, (this is uncommon). On average, the process usually takes between 90 to 180 days, depending on the situation.
How much is my claim? Which government agency or department has it?
We have discovered an amount on the government record during our routine analysis of government records. However, it is important to note that there may be additional mortgages, taxes, liens, or judgments that we are currently unaware of. These could potentially reduce the amount that is available to you or even consume all of the funds that have yet to be determined.
Once the paperwork is completed, which can be done electronically in most cases, it will be assigned to one of the attorneys that we work with in your area. They will then review all the documents that our research team has compiled. After this review, they will determine the exact amount that is available for you to claim.
How much does it cost to retrieve my claim?
The percentage of the claim and the amount of work required to return it to its rightful owner depends on the specific circumstances. The percentage can range from 5% (for very large claims) to 50% (for complicated cases that require more time and effort). Our recovery process section contains a picture of a mechanic looking under the hood, and it advises that we offer a complimentary diagnostic (a review) of your situation to determine the scope of services that need to be provided.
How do you stop (over time) any calls, emails, texts, or unexpected visits?
As an organization, we are well-versed in the workings of governmental agencies and departments. We also have a deep understanding of our industry and are skilled at communicating with individuals, companies, and organizations. When you seek our assistance and sign our paperwork, we will use our expertise to ensure effective communication. During our onboarding process, we will ask if you need help in this area and how we can best support you.
QUESTIONS & CONCERNS FROM US TO CLAIMANTS
Do you feel the government agency or department that has been holding onto your money/funds for many years deserves them more than you and your family do?
Because we don’t, and this is why our Advocacy Group was created to help individuals, families, and businesses across the United States regain what rightfully belongs to them. We analyze, advise, and assist in getting back what you have lost. We believe that you should not let the other party collect interest on the money/funds that belong to you. Although we can’t do anything about the interest they have collected, we can help you return the money to its rightful owner in most cases. This way, you can start collecting interest on it as soon as possible.
If you are aware that the money/funds exist but the circumstances that created them are too painful to deal with right now, then when would be a good time?
As previously advised, more than 90% of unclaimed funds are never returned to their rightful owners because the government agency holding onto them gets to keep them after a certain number of years. You should ask yourself this question, if it has been too difficult to deal with their return over the last few years when you could have had them returned, how much more difficult will it be when you’re finally ready to find out they can no longer be returned because that time has expired? Many people have shared with me how disheartening this is because they either really needed the money or had planned a great vacation, family reunion, or renovation that can no longer happen. So, before this happens, let’s set up a time to talk.
Is the government agency or department holding onto your money for the past few years your favorite cause or organization to give back to?
“If you are not interested in keeping the money, please consider donating it to your family, a charity, or a cause that you are passionate about. If you truly believe that the government would be the best recipient of these funds, you can continue to do nothing and they will receive the money in due time. However, we strongly urge you to think about your family, a charity, or a cause that you are passionate about first. If it is a cause that we also strongly believe in, we will match up to 2.5% of our portion received. We firmly believe in the principle of “Giver’s Gain” and are always looking for more opportunities to give.”
